The introduction of the term sustainable development in environmental literature was introduced in a report entitled Our Common Future, or the Brandtland Report, in April 1987, but the use of the term sustainable development is first attributed to Ms. Barbara Ward in the mid-1970s. This general concept was widely proposed by the Global Conservation Strategy to manage the conservation of natural resources and the environment in order to better play a better role in human welfare. One of the most important of these is the 1992 Rio de Janeiro Summit with the 21st Agenda as a United Nations Working Plan for the 21st Century. Sustainable development is, in fact, a balance between development and environmental protection. There can be four aspects of sustainability: sustainability in natural resources, political sustainability, social sustainability, and political sustainability. In fact, the concept of sustainable development is not just about focusing on the environmental dimension, but also about social and economic sustainability. In fact, sustainable development is the intersection of society, the economy and the environment. Unfortunately, in recent decades, in many of the activities and decisions made, little attention has been paid to the sustainable development of the environment, and therefore many problems have arisen during the implementation of development projects, especially in our country, which has caused great economic and social damage. Has been to the country. Despite such unfortunate experiences, there is still no proper understanding and trust in the discussion of sustainable development in development projects. Therefore, we decided to dedicate this issue of Boom Korea to the discussion of sustainable development. However, we hope that the forthcoming special issue with articles and specialized statements in the field of sustainable development will be able to take a small step in the correct implementation of the concept of sustainable development.
