Natural greenhouse gases such as water vapor, CO2, methane, N2O, and gases like halocarbons (CFCs, HFCs, HCFCs) and sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) exacerbate the greenhouse effect. The intensity of the increase in greenhouse gases has risen in recent decades. In 1989, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) was established, and in 1992, it signed the Climate Change Convention. According to Article 7 of this convention, the Conference of the Parties (COP) was established as the highest authority of the convention, with responsibilities such as periodic review of member commitments, assessment of the implementation of the convention, and more. The twenty-ninth session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) will be held from November 21-22, 2024, in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, with the message of "In Solidarity for a Green World".
