Abstract

The "Boomkoreh" journal, a scientific, cultural, and social seasonly publication, addresses significant environmental topics across various domains. Its mission is to raise awareness, enhance public knowledge, and draw attention to critical environmental issues. This edition covers diverse subjects, including the importance of the Caspian Sea, water governance in the country, water pollution caused by pharmaceutical substances, challenges in the paper recycling industry, and fostering a culture of reducing plastic waste production. Additionally, it explores topics like the role of environmental DNA (eDNA) in conservation biology, introduces the ENVI software, and provides an analysis of climate change trends.
The cultural section features book and documentary reviews, an interview with the translator of the book Zero Waste, and competitions related to photography in protected areas. Another critical focus of this edition is the environmental threats facing the Caspian Sea, including pollution from urban wastewater, agricultural chemicals, oil contaminants, and water level fluctuations. The journal also discusses the role of the Tehran Convention in protecting the Caspian Sea's environment.
