Abstract
In this interview, Dr. Saeed Tajik, Head of the Energy and Environment Commission of the Tehran Chamber of Commerce, elaborates on the private sector’s role in environmental policymaking, cooperation with the Department of Environment, and the challenges of implementing environmental laws such as air pollution regulations and carbon footprint measures. He emphasizes the need for environmental science graduates’ engagement with industry, the importance of academia-industry connections, and the active participation of the private sector in international forums such as COP28. Key issues discussed include gaps in environmental legislation, the inefficiencies in executive protocols, and the necessity of collaboration between governmental and private entities to achieve sustainable development.
