Abstract
Soil, as one of the fundamental components of nature and civilizations, plays an unparalleled role in the formation and sustainability of human societies. However, this vital element has often been overlooked and continues to face various challenges, including erosion, degradation, and land-use change. This paper analyzes the role of soil in the construction of civilizations and the environmental challenges associated with it, emphasizing the need for a shift in the management of soil resources and raising public and academic awareness in this regard. Additionally, the paper explores the necessity of establishing interdisciplinary fields in universities to connect soil, vegetation, and other components of nature.
